Heart River Housing in High Prairie, Alberta, is currently accepting applications for Temporary Yard Maintenance Workers for seasonal summer employment. The wage range is $18.00-$20.00 per hour based on qualifications. The start date will be confirmed with successful applicants.

General Service Workers

Pleasantview Lodge in High Prairie, Alberta, requires General Service Workers for casual employment with a possibility of leading to full-time year-round employment.

Shifts and Duties:

• Kitchen and Evening Shifts (assist with meal/snack service, cleanup in kitchen/dining areas)

Maintenance Position

Heart River Housing is now accepting applications for a full-time maintenance position at the Villa Beausejour in Falher. Your starting wage will be $52,000/year plus benefits, with room for negotiation based on your experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• General maintenance, repair and upkeep of the Seniors' Lodge and apartments.
• Preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems are in good repair and operation.
• Preventive maintenance of boilers, make up air units, fire alarm systems, and various other equipment.
• Grounds maintenance and general yard work.
• Occasional renovation of vacant suites for new tenants.
• Occasional service calls after regular hours.

Applicants must:

• Have a valid driver's license and their own transportation.
• Have a basic working knowledge of heating/cooling systems and general carpentry skills.
• Be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills. Fluency in French would be an asset.
• Be open and willing to learn new skills.
• Provide a current criminal record check.

Heart River Housing values the time, care and supports that are provided through volunteering.

When you volunteer with Heart River Housing, you are giving the gift of your time and talent to help others. We offer volunteer options for all commitment and skill levels, making us a great choice for the seasoned and first time volunteers. You could assist our Activity Coordinators with lodge recreation programs, such as art classes, scheduled outings, seasonal beautification, exercise programs and special events or entertain seniors with your singing, dancing or other musical talent.

Once a year, the lodges host a “Volunteer Appreciation Day” to say thank you for all of your hard work and generosity with your time. We are happy to provide letters of reference to potential employers and educational institutions.
